A reminder of this year's Summer School, being held 23rd - 25th July at Fircroft College, Birmingham.

The weekend's theme is 'Future Visions' - different perspectives on what the future might bring...

Friday evening - Simon Wigley - The Curse of Looking Backwards (utopias)
Saturday morning - Mike Foster - A Pessimist's Guide To The Future (dystopias). (This talk comes with your very own free Pessimist's Guide To The Future!)
Saturday afternoon - Andy P Davies - Confounding Catastrophism (future trends in capitalism)
Saturday evening - Bill Martin - Socialism And Singularity (future trends in capitalism)
Sunday morning - Janet Surman - Imagining A Socialist Society

There will also be a session about Stan Parker's book 'Towards 2100 - From Capitalism To Socialism' on Saturday afternoon. (There's a free copy of Stan's book for all attendees.)


The full residential cost (including accommodation and meals Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) is £130. The concessionary rate is £80. The non-residential cost (including meals but not accommodation) is £50. People are welcome to just drop in for the talks, but please notify beforehand. So as to confirm numbers to the venue , bookings in by Thursday 15th July.
