Fact of the Day

The top 100 CEOs in Canada earned $7.7 million on average in 2011. Just after 1 p.m. on the first work day of the new year, those top CEOs had earned what it would take an average Canadian working person working full time all year to make, about $45,000. That equates to about 235 times what an average worker earns in a year.

The top 1 per cent of earners in Australia enjoy a little less than 10 per cent of national income
