Fact of the Day

Today marks the anniversary of another bloody episode in British history. On 13 April 1919 at protest meeting in Amritsar against the British occupation of India the crowd was fired on by British troops. The firing only ceased when the ammunition ran out. The Amritsar massacre left 400 dead and 1,200 injured
